Thank you to everyone who came for the sign-raising - it was wonderful to see so many old and new friends and SO many smiling faces. It means a tremendous amount to each of us.
We have a few shoutouts to give this week...
If you’ve driven by Barrel & Baskit the last week, you may have noticed our gorgeous new sign. We want to thank two people who made this beautiful piece of art come to life: First, Andrea Folsom, who kicked off the logo design process. When we reached out to
Andrea to ask for help on designing the logo, she showed up with 20+ ideas and was ready to iterate. It was a terrifically fun and productive process, and we are so grateful for her creativity! And Zach Maskiell, of Inkslinger Screenprinting in Weare, brought the sign to life over the course of the last several weeks, working nonstop to source the materials and construct the sign. It turned out even more beautifully than we dreamed! Thank you, Zach!
Over the last week, you may have noticed a few other exterior changes at the store: clearing and regrading the back lot, taking down the tree in the intersection, planting and mulching the intersection bed, cleaning up all the winter sand and salt that had accumulated, and more. This all happened with the incredible hard work of Olkonen Earthscapes, and we can’t believe how gorgeous everything looks! Dulcie has known Todd pretty much since kindergarten and it’s been incredibly fun to get to work together on Barrel & Baskit (though Anna is definitely having the most fun planning and envisioning the landscape!). Thank you, Todd and Team!
Finally, during the past two weeks there has been a wild amount of painting going on, and we cannot thank our painters - Maskiell Painting - enough. From freshening up the cinderblock wall (prepping it for the mural project!), to repairing windows and power-washing the building, to a colossal amount of interior and exterior painting, Tim and Adam have been working around the clock (literally into the night, and on weekends and holidays!) to freshen, clean-up, and beautify just about every surface inside and outside the store. Tim is truly one of a kind, with an eye for details, an appreciation for historic restoration, and an absolute focus on craftsmanship. His partnership in bringing Barrel & Baskit to life is nothing less than transformational. Thank you, TIM AND ADAM (and also Abby, Jodi, and Ethan!)!
